While The Great Melting was underway Celia and Andres enjoyed The Great Outdoors for the first time in months. Jackets were optional; they both kept themselves warm by running after each other.

| "Act like you like each other." |
Inspired by the sight of Jasmine and Sean roaming an empty Turner Street on their bikes, Andres asked me to dig his big wheels out of the basement. Soon that wasn't enough--he wanted his big boy bike instead; much easier to catch up with the big kids that way. He did a great job staying balanced despite two marginally flat tires (Jasmine, by contrast, was riding around on two rims and no helmet). He raced up and down the street, through puddles and around our house, showing no signs of slowing down.

Soon Celia was interested in biking around also. She was too small to drive around on Andres' big wheels; I'll have to rummage around the basement and find some of the smaller vehicles that Andres has outgrown. Even without a bike of her own, she was content to hang out and watch all the action on the street. For one afternoon, at least, it felt like we were getting back to summer habits...staying outside, talking with neighbors, enjoying the peace and quiet afforded by living on a dead end street.

Raindrops eventually chased us all inside. It was a nice way to end the weekend; the rain prevented us from getting spoiled by the warm weather, and quietly reminded us that our proper place was indoors for the next few weeks.

Great early spring or late winter story, Burt. And the photos are super, too. Lucky kids to have such a dad! See you soon.
