Camping

The kids got their first taste of RV camping this weekend in Connecticut. I think they liked it.

We swam, we took walks. They played, made new friends, threw a frisbee. There was so much to do, especially given the lack of any consistent wi-fi connection! At night, we went to a dance party (Lucia likes to dance two ways--on her own, and also in my arms when I am dancing) and roasted marshmallows over an open fire. In the RV, Celia and Andres each slept in the top bunk--this was a big deal to them--and somehow managed not to fall down in the middle of the night. (I did not sleep well, waiting for a thunk that, miraculously, never came.) It was an enjoyable vacation from our standard vacation, and I think the kids are already looking forward to next year's visit.

A lazy afternoon in the pond.
Splashing about.
Celia loves Andres so much. Here, he forgets to be too cool for it.
MUST. LIFT. ROCKS.
This game seemed appropriate.
Rat-a-Tat Cat has become a favorite pastime.
