One of the reasons I enjoy shooting Ultimate tournaments is that, for a weekend, I can justify renting a lens that I can never realistically hope to own. My most recent rental--a Canon 300 mm f/2.8--definitely falls into this category.
I used it to shoot high school Ultimate players all day Saturday, and then Sunday I turned my attention to the budding soccer star in our house (and his sister). We took a little walk down to the Brandeis athletic fields for a photo shoot.

Man, everything looks slicker in a Barca shirt.
Celia was with us too. At first she was content to eat a cheese stick and watch her brother, but soon she figured out that it was fun to chase after me and try to put her entire face into my line of sight. Makes sense, right? My beautiful rented lens had a lot of cheese stains on it by the end of the shoot.

One of these days I'll have to get Celia alone on the field without her big brother darting all around her; I am starting to notice that there is a decided lack of Celia action shots in my web galleries. Instead, there seem to be a lot of photos of her looking at Andres, a smirk on her face. She also has some nice soccer jerseys that she could wear...ok, I'm getting some ideas. I'll make this happen.
More pics are available in my
Spring 2011 gallery--including a couple of a hawk who was looking for some lunch, but who was also happy to be photographed.
Pretty soon you won't have to buy revolution tix any more- Andres will get them for you at a players discount!
ReplyDeleteGood work, bg. Your ultimate pictures were pretty sick, but these are much cuter.
