It actually happened! We went away for a whole week as a family. Destination: Cape Cod.
Natalia found us a perfect temporary home was a small place in Dennisport. A 5 minute walk in one direction took us to the beach; a 4 minute walk in the other direction took us to ice cream and mini golf. A 2 minute walk in that same direction, halfway to ice cream and minigolf, took us to a fantastic bakery. Basically all we needed within a mile.
During our trip down route 3, I was feeling a bit apprehensive about the week ahead. We were used to a fast-paced schedule, with swimming and soccer practices eating up most of our evenings. How would we manage when we stripped all that away, and had to relax together?
Turns out it was pretty easy. And fun. Nobody had any major tantrums, we watched a lot of movies, and went to the beach every day. We caught a Cape Cod league game. We ate a lot of ice cream. We grilled, we played board games, and read some books. And, of course, we played mini golf to our heart's content and our wallets' capacities.
I didn't go crazy on the picture taking--I wanted to relax, too--but I did manage to take enough pictures and videos to create a small, complete-enough-to-be-generally-accurate video recap of our trip. Enjoy!
(The first version of this included some Beatles songs, but apparently that violated YouTube's copyright policies, so I had to re-upload the video with royalty-free music which, unfortunately, is not as fun. But hey, laws.)
