Dinner time

Andres is often a picky eater for us (though NEVER at daycare, mind you, where he eats like a sumo wrestler) and prefers his milk and fruit to more dinner-type foods. So the past two nights have been wonderful--he's been eating pasta with a vegetable marinara sauce, and not even picking the veggies out. Proof:

(Full disclosure: he may have been goaded into eating like this in order to get a slice of chocolate cake after dinner. I'll make that deal every time though...)

After a little while, he got tired of eating and decided to climb onto me to see his sister:

In my post from yesterday, I forgot to mention that Andres helped me make the sauce. I cut the veggies, and he put them into a bowl for me--then he stirred the sauce as it was cooking. I have a theory (totally unproven) that he is more likely to eat grownup-type food (like pasta, chicken, etc...anything outside the realm of chicken nuggets and grilled cheese) that he helps to make than food he does not help to make. So I try to involve him when cooking as much as is possible/reasonable.

And, for the most part, he is a very good sous-chef! His egg cracking is a bit suspect, but his stirring is good, he's aware of what to touch/what not to touch, and he usually makes a good pot of coffee.

Bedtime followed dinner, and Andres wanted to hang out with Celia a bit more, so I read to them as they got comfortable. They are too funny together...Andres absolutely adores her, and Celia is fully fascinated with her older brother.
